Our associate member, Lance Perry, specializes in employee benefits for association and helps members identify all of their health and business retirement plan needs. The recent passing of the Secure Act in December 2019 was the first major legislative change affecting retirement plans since the Pension Protection Act of 2006. In addition, California law will require almost every employer to offer a retirement plan option to their employees by 2022 or pay penalties. The requirement is sooner for employers with over 50 employees. The California default option is called CalSavers, which is an automatic employee enrollment option that will become an administrative nightmare for many companies. There are better options, so please give me a call to understand the specifics and the best option for your company.
After business is done for the day, Lance spends most of this time with his beautiful wife, Channing, and his four kids: Nic, Alexander, Adriana, and Jake. Three kids play competitive soccer and one is a vocalist, which creates a busy activity schedule. Besides work and kid’s activities, there’s very little time left in the day. He’s an avid fitness enthusiast, so getting to the gym at 6am every morning is the only way he can carve out a little time for himself. Every year they celebrate with a couple of vacations and this past January we went to Maui and learned how to surf. We still enjoy the sun-filled vacations, which gives me just a few days to relax!
