Matt Gomez was raised in Santa Cruz, where he spent most of his free time at the beach in Capitola, surfing and fishing off his paddle board. His parents own and operate Souza Cones Ice Cream & Candy also in Capitola.
Matt graduated from Aptos High, and earned an AA in construction from Cabrillo College. Then he made the decision to stay in his home town. After holding various jobs and “testing the field,” he found his calling in the world of irrigation distribution. He worked at Scott’s Valley Sprinkler & Pipe Supply for a couple of years. Since 2012 he’s been working as branch manager for family-owned, green industry partner “Ewing” in Santa Cruz.
After a few years in the industry and climbing the corporate ladder, Matt soon found a pretty girl named Julie from San Jose. She’s now his wife. They’ve been married since 2015. They’re homeowners and parents to two beautiful kids. Matt couldn’t be happier.
Matt believes in a “roll up your sleeves and put in the work” attitude. He believes that “there’s nothing you can’t achieve if you set a goal and focus on achieving that goal.”
